Rhumba Club
PERFORMING AT PHOENIX ARTS CLUB
Rhumba Club is the synth-pop & alt-disco project of Jersey-born, London-based artist Tom Falle, blending analogue synths, disco grooves, and reflections on queer culture. Inspired by Patrick Cowley, Pet Shop Boys and Talking Heads, Rhumba Club makes music that is both deeply personal and dancefloor-ready.
His new album HONCHO earned him a PPL Momentum Music Fund Award & features Italians Do It Better signees Juno Francis and Animal/Lover, a duet with Patrick Wolf—Wolf’s first-ever feature on another artist’s record. The record has been championed by BBC 6Music, especially by broadcasting legend Steve Lamacq. HONCHO also bore the single Talk Me Into It, lauded by Steve Lamacq on Radio 6, and scouted by acclaimed Czech filmmaker David Ondříček, who cast Falle performing the song in the climactic scenes of his upcoming film.
Since releasing his debut Welcome to the Rhumba Club, Falle has earned support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6, GQ, Attitude, The Line of Best Fit, The Fader, Wonderland and Clash, while also creating music for Hermès, Fendi and Adidas. His 2023 follow-up Love Apokalypto spawned the alt-summer classic Beach Lizard and 6Music favourite Perfect Queen, cementing him as a vital queer disco voice.
On stage, Rhumba Club has toured Europe, sharing bills with Molchat Doma, IDLES, Will Butler + Sister Squares & Patrick Wolf, fusing euphoric live queer disco with the controlled mania of Future Islands, galvanising a devoted community of “Clubbers” across the continent & beyond.
For fans of: Pet Shop Boys, Perfume Genius, Sylvester & early Blood Orange.
HONCHO was created with the generous support of the PPL Momentum Music Fund, ArtHouse Jersey & Help Musicians.
