Chlöe’s Clue
Lullabies for adults.
Songs of tender and provocative rhythms, simple and sometimes twisted, with which the adult is stimulated to live – alluding only to the joyful part harbored in living.
Songs that look with the naivety of a child – extolling the beauty of the ordinary and being surprised by the simple, without grandeur or excessive embellishments – and that are always generated in the space of intimacy – as if they lived in the warmth of a cradle – in a spontaneous way that makes them sometimes ironic and always free, uncensored in their expression – sound and lyrics – .
With this immovable base, mixing childhood imaginaries and the ordinary world in an ironic and delicate way, the project of Raquel Adalid – Chlöe’s Clue – has been evolving since 2014 when she launched “Hidden Rhythms”, the first album that took her to some of the greatest festivals in Spain and encouraged her keep sewing her musical fabric with the second album “Panorama” (2017) and “Carmín y Rubor” (2020) establishing her as one of the key names in the alternative Spanish music scene and getting a great projection in Latin America thanks to the song “Quémame” included in “Carmín y Rubor” featuring Mexican duo Daniel, Me Estás Matando.
By then, she was already creating a specific audiovisual texture through her sound, delicate writing and strictly personal imagery.
This took her to some unexpected places such as playing in David Lynch’s Silencio Club in Paris with Spanish fashion brand 404 Studio or opening Caetano Veloso’s shows in Spain.
This evolution keeps moving and twisting.
In 2023 Raquel launched a collaboration with Spanish artist Paco Moreno – in which a substantial change of manners can be perceived, more uninhibited and playful – and in 2024 the artist from Valencia decides to launch “Notas de Voz”, her own voice notes from the phone with no filter, an exercise of exposed intimacy, a pleasurable representation of the raw reality.
This album took her to her first shows in South America, in Chile, and connected to a new dimension of her, one that’s unspoilt, pure.
Now cooking new recipes in the studio that will be ready to eat in March 2025, Raquel is working towards more lullabies for adults, now, from a new perspective more connected to the current moment she is experiencing, more connected to nature, irony and childhood: agropop for wilted celery.
